Although until now, we are unable to generate Nepal’s hydro-power potency to maximum, and these days it has become possible to Nepal to sell as well as buy the electricity with India. It should be added here that Bangladesh has as per the agreement, wants to import 40 megawatts of electricity from Nepal. For this purpose, the Indian side has also been involved as Nepal’s electricity will be transmitted to Bangladesh through the transmission infrastructure on the Indian territory. India and Nepal had reached an agreement for long-term power trade that envisages the sale of up to 10,000 MW of power from Nepal to India in the next 10 years.
